Job Description
Surveyor/Scanner Specialist
As a Surveyor/Scanner Specialist , you will perform field data collection using laser scanning to complete different types of survey work for client projects.

As a Surveyor/Scanner Specialist , you will perform field data collection using laser scanning to complete different types of survey work for client projects.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assess the scanning and survey needs and requirements for various disciplines and clients.
- Capture scanning data to be converted into a point cloud using terrestrial based laser scanning equipment and software.
- Ensure all scanning data is of the highest quality.
- Perform all steps necessary for the successful completion of laser scanning from field to project completion.
- Independently handle and complete all field laser scanning assignments.
- Ensure all scanning equipment is functioning properly; address all equipment issues and/or maintenance with management in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with the laser scanning team and provide flexibility based on business need.
- Participate in client site specific safety training and adhere to other client requirements as needed.
- Collaborate with the design team as needed.
Education, Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with Trimble, Nikon and Sokia survey instruments and data collectors.
- Demonstrated experience in Leica Geosystems Cyclone, Register 360, Cloudworx, and Truview.
- Skilled in Autodesk, AutoCad, ReCap, Navisworks, and Civil 3D
- Experience with multi-discipline engineering projects including structures, piping, equipment, and processes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of the overall design team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Physical Requirements

- Frequent walking up to or more than 10,000 steps per day, reaching with hands and arms, climbing several flights of stairs per day, ascending and descending ladders each day, balancing, stooping or kneeling, bending, twisting, use repeating motions that may include the wrists/hands/fingers, talking, and hearing.
- Frequent use of up-close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Remaining in a stationary position, such as standing or sitting, for prolonged periods.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and work at all heights.
- Frequent lifting and/or move items up to 10 pounds; occasional lifting and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
- Potential exposure to adverse environmental conditions (such as, but not limited to, climbing ladders and/or stairs, extreme heat and/or cold, and/or poor air quality) when on-site at a client facility. Noise levels may be moderate to high at various client sites, hearing protection may be required and/or provided. Safety protections to be provided by the client and/or company and are required to be used and followed.
- Should not expect adverse environmental conditions within company offices.
- Frequent car or air travel to other company locations or client sites.
