Position Summary:
This role will be responsible for ensuring that all welded materials and products meet the company’s quality standards. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in quality control and welding, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve quality issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of welded components and materials to ensure they meet the required specifications and standards.
- Review blueprints and technical drawings to verify welding requirements and ensure accurate execution of welds.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welded products to identify any defects or inconsistencies.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the fabrication process.
- Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) as needed, including ultrasonic, magnetic particle, or dye penetrant testing.
- Maintain detailed records of inspection results, welding certifications, and compliance documentation.
- Provide recommendations for corrective actions to address any quality control issues or deviations.
- Assist in welding procedures, process improvements, and troubleshooting of welding issues.
- Collaborate with other team members, including welding engineers, production supervisors, and management, to maintain a high level of quality across all projects.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in quality control with a focus on welding.
- Proven experience with welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and others.
- In-depth knowledge of welding codes, standards, and industry best practices (e.g., ASME, AWS).
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Familiarity with non-destructive testing methods (NDT) and experience conducting weld inspections.
- Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- High school diploma or equivalent
