The Project Director, Embedded Services is accountable for scoping, developing, and executing operating expenditure (OpEx) projects ranging from $250K to $2M, ensuring alignment with customer expectations, budget and safety standards. This role manages chemical infrastructure, contractor coordination, and full-cycle project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of multiple, concurrent OpEx-type projects, including scoping, design, cost estimation, procurement, and construction management.
- Lead the development of scope statements into executable work packages, including preliminary engineering, internal approval processes, and full-cycle project delivery.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor quotes, write RFQs for capital purchases, and manage the selection and performance of engineering and labor contractors.
- Interpret and apply P&IDs, PFDs, and engineering drawings to guide fieldwork, ensure design integrity, and validate contractor execution.
- Serve as the technical point of contact and problem-solver for embedded service teams and customer project stakeholders.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and other tools to create schedules, cost trackers, reports, and project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with internal safety standards and industry best practices across all project phases.
- Track and manage project budgets, timelines, contractor performance, and milestone completion through design, construction, and commissioning.
- Collaborate with internal engineering, operations, procurement, and EH&S to ensure integrated, safe, and timely project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or similar
- 3-5 years of experience as PM on an industrial site.
- Experience with P&IDs, PFDs, construction drawings, and chemical process systems.
- Demonstrated ability to scope, estimate, plan, and manage projects in the $250K–$2M range from concept through commissioning.
- Experience writing RFQs, managing contractors, and working closely with internal stakeholders to secure project approvals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project.
- Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
- A proactive, self-starting mindset with a commitment to safety, quality, and execution excellence.
- Familiarity with specialty chemical systems, fluid processing, or oilfield infrastructure is preferred
