Job Description
Project Controls Specialist
The Project Controls Specialist will be responsible for developing and maintaining construction plans and schedules in the industrial sector.
- Lead project teams in interactive planning sessions to develop work-flow plans, schedules, and detailed labor plans
- Develop and maintain construction schedules ranging from level 1 thru level 4.
- Set up Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) in Oracle Primavera 6 or Microsoft Project scheduling software.
- Responsible for resource loading the schedule.
- Ensure the entry of logic ties within the schedules.
- Analyze resource loading and craft productivity for possible impact to the project schedule
- Perform routine site walks as part of the progress updating and monitoring process
- Create various schedule reports and determine appropriate reporting format.
- Consult with project controls team on schedule progress.
- Develop and present earned value tracking document.
- Manage schedule interfaces between supporting engineering, procurement, subcontractors and owner plans.
- Analyze and report on data from Oracle Primavera P6.
- Develop pre-programmed project scheduling reports in P6 and review and analyze back-up documentation for accuracy.
- Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field. Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- 5-8 years of planning and scheduling experience utilizing Primavera P6.
- Industry experience scheduling in Semiconductor, Pharma, Oil & Gas or other mechanical process industries.
- Ability to work independently, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisions.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 (V15.1 or later).
- May be required to obtain an OSHA 10 hour safety certification.
- Willingness to accept long term field assignments.
