Director of Fabrication
What you will do…
• Estimating/Project Management
• Readily perceives and effectively responds to schedules and product flows essential to supervising highly productive, cost-effective, quality-oriented manufacturing operations
• Establishes and controls procedures to meet production schedules
• Monitors and controls established procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards
• Establishes and monitors cost control systems to achieve department budget objectives
• Responsible for compliance with safety and housekeeping requirements
• Provides training, support, direction, and guidance to Fabrication Manager and personnel to continually develop their work habits, job skills and safety practices
• Evaluates employee performance and accountability
• Recommends and/or administers personnel actions in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Set department goals and develop outline for achievement
• May be exposed to excessive noise, welding gases and fumes, and varying weather conditions
• Performs other duties as assigned
What you will need to succeed…
• AutoCAD/CAD/Solid Works experience
• 5 years of leadership experience in a similar role
• Possess full P&L experience with a proven track record of driving strategic initiatives and achieving results in similar manufacturing operations
• Ability to analyze internal and external data to decide the best course of action for the manufacturing organization
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook applications
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Welding Fabrication Expertise – possess expert fit-up skill and weld code knowledge – Previous weld fab experience REQUIRED
• Leadership – the ability to manage all production teams – Previous supervisor experience REQUIRED
• Problem-Solving – identify problems, develop solutions to correct weld issues, and overcome all production obstacles
• Detail-Oriented – good math skills and precision in work
• Effective Planning and Organization – define the needs and priorities of the team and work
• Excellent Communication – listening, processing, and communicating clearly
• Integrity – upholds a high standard of fairness and ethics in words and actions. • Resilience – the ability to work under pressure while keeping calm. • Analytical Skills – gather and process information to define required production steps effectively
• Proficient in pipe welding codes and procedures
• Proficient in fabrication of vessels and tanks
• Capable of writing weld procedures
• Proficient in structural welding and connections
• Possess a degree in mechanical engineering or welding engineering
