Job Description
Senior Electrical S3D Designer
Houston, TX - 100% on site M-F
Contract to hire with conversion to direct at 12mos.
The Senior Electrical Designer allows you to exercise your design skills, plan and produce 2D/3D deliverables, and showcase your leadership talents through coordination, communication, and execution of projects.
Requirements:
- 7+ years progressive electrical design experience in an industrial environment
- SmartPlant 3D experience is required.
- Experience with gas projects, power generation systems and/or gas or steam turbines
- Good understanding and ability to navigate NEC code, Electricity Basics, and CAD Standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others (Project Managers, Engineers and Designers) in a multi-discipline project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in drafting technology or related field with 7 years experience or Associate's Degree with 8 years related or 9 years with a high school degree
Responsibilities:
The Electrical Designer will work on a diverse portfolio of gas projects with various clients to perform the following duties:
- Design physical layouts for grounding, duct bank, conduit, cable tray, and lighting.
- Plan and develop a full range of electrical drawing deliverables such as one-lines, motor schematics, hazardous areas, grounding, duct bank, lighting, power, cable tray, installation details, and section/elevations.
- Perform calculations for grounding, duct bank, conduit, cable tray, and lighting.
- Execute, organize, and maintain project revisions to designs and drawings
- Interpret and apply design codes and specifications related to design requirements.
- Review design deliverables for quality assurance within scope, budget and schedule.
- Incorporate schedules, budgets and project criteria into electrical design and layouts.
- Coordinate drafting and design efforts with both internal and external clients and vendors.
