Electrical Reliability Supervisor
The Electrical Reliability Supervisor will lead the reliably reviews and improvement recommendations for electrical systems in the refinery. This position will supervise the Reliability Electrical Engineer and work with the Maintenance Electrical Manager and Project Engineering Instrument and Electrical Engineering Manager to put together programs, assign work priorities, create and execute the Electrical Reliability Budget, provide input into the Capital MTP and Budget for electrical projects, and provide input into the Maintenance Budget for electrical expense projects and needs.
The position will provide leadership and technical support for electrical distribution systems throughout the refinery.
This position leads the effort in reliability engineering for electrical systems to improve availability, reduce maintenance costs, increase MTBF, increase equipment on-line performance, and provide, develop and lead reliability analysis and programs.
- Leads the electrical reliability engineers to improve electrical reliability performance.
- Plans and directs work, provides training, facilitates interaction with other work groups, establishes goals and objectives and sets performance criteria.
- Leads and coordinates engineering work assignments and workload.
- Selects, leads and coordinates reliability projects and programs, including selecting and managing contractors.
- Coordinates with the Maintenance Electrical Department and Operations, to plan and execute reliability objectives for the refinery.
- Interfaces with Project Engineering Electrical and Instrument Department to gain additional support and resources when needed, to provide technical input into projects and provides Engineering Work Requests to generate reliability based projects.
- Reviews/selects candidates to fill vacancies, conduct performance reviews and recommends performance ratings.
- Provides electrical technology expertise to the refinery. Responsible for developing solutions to complex problems which require ingenuity and creativity. Expected to lead and/or participate in multi-discipline teams to come up with refinery reliability solutions.
- Working with Manager of Reliability and the Maintenance Electrical Department Manager, sets the electrical reliability goals for the year including programs and project privatization.
- Provides input to the Reliability Department budget and manages the budget for the area assigned. This would include all areas pertaining to electrical department.
- Ensures Electrical Group expectations are met.
- Lead/Facilitate root cause failure analysis.
- Perform life cycle cost analysis on design modification and metallurgy upgrade options to provide recommendations to management.
- Provide technical input to strategies for maintenance, repair, and replacement specifications.
- Identify and implement improvement ideas to improve operational performance, increase availability, and reduce costs.
- Provide technical input to capital project design basis and support to develop project options.
- Support Operations by responding to reliability needs and emergency situations.
- Support plan turnaround efforts with technical and leadership support.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Eight (8) years of electrical engineering experience in a processing facility
- Valid driver's license
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Eligibility
- Eligibility Requirements: The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration. All candidates must be eligible to receive a TWIC in order to be consider for an offer.
