Our client is seeking a detail oriented, professional, and motivated electrical engineer with 5-7+ years’ experience to be part of the Electrical & Instrumentation group. A background in the specification and design of electrical systems for chemical / petrochemical refinery and pipeline industries is ideal. Additional experience with instrumentation and controls system design is a plus.

A successful candidate will have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 5-7+ years Electrical Engineering experience
• Oil and Gas (upstream / midstream) and Refinery/Petrochemical industry experience preferred.
• Experience specifying and selecting electrical distribution equipment (Switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, Transformers, Transfer Switches, etc.)
• Experience specifying and selecting instrumentation and process control hardware (PLC, DCS IO etc.)
• Experience in the development of instrumentation drawings and documents such as IO lists, instrument lists, installation details, instrument locations drawings, wiring diagrams and loop sheets.
• Experience in the development of control system drawings such as control system architectures, IO card schematics, panel layouts and wiring diagrams.
• Experience in the development of electrical drawings and documents that include one-line drawings, power plans, hazard classification maps, cable routing (cable tray/raceways), cable & conduit schedules, grounding and lighting plans (including photometric studies).
• Experience developing complete electrical, instrumentation and controls drawing packages as part of construction packages.
• A strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and industry design standards.
• The ability to estimate engineering hours to perform project related tasks for proposal development.
• Field work required in heavy industrial environments.
• Field construction coordination and commissioning/startup experience a plus.
• Construction cost estimating a plus.
• A Professional Engineer (PE) license would be a strong plus
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
