Construction Manager
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Construction Manager with a minimum of 10 years of industry experience to join our team on a one-year contract with the possibility of extension. This candidate will be working alongside talented individuals in a Specialty Chemical plant. As a Construction Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating various construction projects from inception to completion. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the successful execution of projects while adhering to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
Responsibilities:
Coordinating Work in the Field and Issuing Permits:
• Coordinate and schedule construction activities on-site, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks
• Collaborate with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers, to facilitate smooth project execution
• Obtain and manage all necessary permits and licenses required for construction activities
Overseeing General Contractor Field Activities:
• Supervise and direct the activities of the general contractor and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and schedules
• Monitor the progress of construction work, adjusting as necessary to maintain project timelines
• Consistently evaluate work quality, resolve issues, and provide guidance to the construction team
Interpreting Contracts and Ensuring Accountability:
• Thoroughly review and interpret project contracts to ensure compliance with all terms and conditions
• Hold the general contractor and subcontractors accountable for adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and productivity goals
• Implement effective project controls, including tracking progress, managing budgets, and monitoring costs
Providing Constructability Input During Design:
• Collaborate with the design team to provide constructability input during the pre-construction phase
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and plans to identify potential issues, propose solutions, and optimize construction efficiency
• Advise on material selections, construction methods, and alternative designs to enhance project constructability
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, preferably in commercial or industrial projects
• Previous experience with Navisworks or CADPlus Products
• Proven track record of successfully managing multiple construction projects simultaneously
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, practices, and regulations
• Proficiency in interpreting construction contracts and enforcing compliance
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to resolve construction-related challenges
