Senior Project Manager, BIM Design
Austin, TX - on site
Contract to hire with direct conversion at 6 mos.
Seeking a Design Manager to work on large-scale manufacturing that requires exceptional talent. Our environment is fast-paced and incredibly exciting.
Will be responsible for design project scoping, funding alignment, deliverable planning, and drawing package execution for the design and engineering efforts to support construction of infrastructure development, from concept level to production.
Responsibilities
• Fundamentally understand stakeholders’ requirements and translate them into clear project objectives. Distill, document and manage scope effectively to support highly dynamic environment
• Manage infrastructure projects through conceptualization, feasibility, funding, design (30%/60%/90%/IFC), change management, and engineering services during construction
• Manage permitting and construction documents including transmittals and RFI’s
• Manage infeed of customer requests from all site teams
• Own project funding request process for major infrastructure improvement scopes
• Coordinate key project schedule requirements with our Procurement and Construction partners for the overall schedule success of the project
• Identify resource requirements and highlight gaps and constraints across various stages for all projects. Influence various teams outside of direct reporting structure
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the various cross-functional teams to ensure overall program alignment
• Define strategies for project delivery methods including design bid build, integrated project development, and fast track projects
• Understand lean construction principles and fully integrated design using Building Information Modeling (BIM)
• Implement innovative engineering and design methodologies to support very aggressive program and construction schedules
• Infrastructure development is a problem of complexity, objective thinking, and social interactions. Prove an ability to solve subjective problems with objective fundamentals
Requirements
• B.S. in Engineering and/or Construction.
• 3+ years experience managing multi-disciplinary scopes within architecture, engineering or Design Engineering firms.
• Manufacturing experience is a must. Manufacturing within automotive, especially EV, and/or battery cell production, is preferred.
• Experience designing manufacturing facilities and large-scale site infrastructure (e.g. building and utilities)
• Advanced project management skills with the ability to effectively execute many projects and tasks in parallel
• Positive, enthusiastic, fast learner, can-do mindset and passionate about manufacturing infrastructure
• Thrives under pressure and in ambiguous environments
