Job Title: BIM Coordinator

Location: Pittsburgh Area (or ability for frequent travel)

Position Overview: As a BIM Coordinator, you will manage and facilitate Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes across various projects. Your primary role will involve collaboration with architects, engineers, and construction trades to ensure the effective use of BIM technologies in delivering high-quality project outcomes. You will also oversee clash detection and manage coordination review meetings to resolve design conflicts and enhance project collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• BIM Management: Oversee the development and maintenance of BIM models, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all project phases.
• Collaboration: Act as a liaison between design teams and construction trades, fostering communication and ensuring that all parties are aligned on project goals and timelines.
• Clash Detection: Conduct regular clash detection analyses using BIM software to identify and resolve conflicts in designs before construction begins.
• Coordination Meetings: Organize and lead coordination review meetings with stakeholders to discuss clash findings, facilitate collaborative problem-solving, and track resolution progress.
• Standards Development: Establish and enforce BIM standards, protocols, and workflows to enhance collaboration and efficiency.
• Training & Support: Provide training and support to team members on BIM tools and best practices, ensuring proficiency and adherence to standards.
• Quality Control: Conduct regular reviews of BIM models and documentation for quality assurance and compliance with project requirements.
• Problem Solving: Identify and resolve BIM-related issues that arise during the design and construction phases, facilitating solutions that meet project needs.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of BIM processes, workflows, and changes, ensuring accurate documentation for future reference.
• Technology Integration: Stay up-to-date with the latest BIM technologies and trends, recommending tools and software that enhance productivity and project outcomes.
• Integration of Vendor Models: Bringing vendor models from other design software such as SolidWorks, and converting them for incorporation in the integrated Revit model.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in BIM coordination or a similar role within the architecture, engineering, or construction industry.
• Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Navisworks, and other relevant tools.
• Strong understanding of design and construction processes, with the ability to navigate complex project requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BIM certification (e.g., BIM Manager, BIM Specialist) is a plus.
• Experience with multidisciplinary coordination and clash detection processes.
• Familiarity with construction management software and project management methodologies.
